April is National Poetry Month - Introducing Poet Sydney Elise

April 3, 2022

Excited to introduce a young woman that shares her love of storytelling through her love of poetry.

Meet our newest author Sydney Elise and her first published

work, "to Saturn".

Sydney was the valedictorian of her class for her four years at Revere High School, MA, and the Poet Laureate for three years. Alongside her role as Poet Laureate, she took on the student-leader position of her school’s Poetry Out Loud Club. She also interned as a writer for her local newspaper, the Revere Journal.

Outside of writing, she was a part of the Nicole Zervas Dance

Academy community for fifteen years as both a dancer and student-assistant. Sydney is currently attending University of Massachusetts Amherst, Class of 2025, studying English.

"to Saturn" is a book of poetry about the importance of heartfelt friendships, and learning to appreciate what friendship offers. In the learning of important aspects of friendship, to Saturn explores the progression of falling in love, though at the expense of one's mental wellbeing and self-love. In this progression, the lesson is learned while in love: letting go is not leaving.
