Meet LCG Brands Consulting

An Interview with Jodi-Tatiana Charles

December 6, 2021

Tell us about LCG Brands Consulting. LCG Brands is a marketing consulting firm dedicated to educating and empowering entrepreneurs, small and medium businesses (SMBs), global organizations, startups, and NGO/non-profits on the importance of growing personal and corporate brands. We help business professionals develop and leverage their Personal Brand so they can be more productive, self-aware and gain clarity on their goals and vision. We do this through customized marketing education via presentations, workshops, consulting, and coaching.

What made you decide to start your business? I started LCG Brands in 2009 at the tail end of the great recession. It was then my capstone project, to complete my MBA at F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. It became apparent that I would have to go live when I was labeled, overqualified for any marketing C-Suite positions that I had my eyes on. Over the past 12 years I have gained a strong global reputation in the entrepreneur ecosystem as well as the small business community of veterans, women, families, ethnic groups, minorities, and international business owners. I have mentored and become a sounding board to countless entrepreneurs and innovators, as they seek to succeed in marketing for themselves and their businesses on their terms. At the start of the pandemic, I quickly and easily slipped back into my media representative persona to develop a platform giving these communities an amplified voice by creating a podcast welcoming to SMBs at all levels, educating new audiences of the “people” that fuel and support our neighborhoods. What do you love most about Marblehead? The lifestyle of yester years. It sounds corny but living here for over 13 years brings together all the things that are dear to me; the simplicity of my childhood, the appreciation when the sunrises and the moon appears while sitting by the ocean, the calmness that comes on walks on the trail, the history that weaves the present into our every day and the community made up of caring neighbors, friends, and family that makes this town extra special. What hobbies/interests do you have? Photography is my first love; it's how I learned how to embrace the English language and my first understanding of storytelling. Global and Local Travels & Adventures, being first generation born in the US to Haitian parents, it was instilled in me that to understand a community, you have to inject yourself in their history, religion, cultures, and people. Fitness, especially running and skiing. All types of artistry using my hands; cooking, painting, origami, music, gardening, crafts, etc. and my absolute favorite listening to well executed stories.
